Social Housing Advocacy Support Program (SHASP)
The SHASP program offers:
• Support for Early Housing transfer applicants.
• Advocacy in relation to appeals, complaints, rent and maintenance issues
• Advocacy and representation at VCAT
• Assistance in resolving neighbourhood issues
Eligibility
The SHASP program assists the following
people:
• Tenants of public housing
• People applying for public housing
• Ex-tenants of public housing who may have a debt
• Tenants of elderly persons estates
• Tenants of long term community housing such as Co-operatives.
Indigenous Tenants at Risk
Bethany Community Support in partnership with Wautharong Aboriginal Cooperative offer housing support to Indigenous tenants in Officeof Housing and Aboriginal Housing Board properties. An Indigenous Tenancies worker is located atBethany 2 days per week offering support, information and advocacy to Indigenous tenants.
Intensive Case Management Initiative (ICMI)
The ICMI program is designed to assist people with multiple and complex needs to access and maintain long term secure housing.
The program offers:
• Intensive case management and outreach support
• Support to access a range of services
• Advocacy and support to access housing
• Support to address a range of issues including personal needs, parenting, health,education and financial needs
Homeless Services
Homeless Services offers a broad range of information, housing and support options to single women and families with children who
are experiencing housing difficulties.
The Homeless Services program offers:
• Access to Crisis and Transitional Housing accommodation
• Advocacy and support to secure long term housing
• Support to access a range of services
• Support to address a range of issues including personal needs, parenting, health,education and financial needs
• Case Management support

To access the SHASP service and IndigenousTenants at Risk Services please contact our intake worker on 5278 8122 on Monday,
Wednesday or Friday between 9am-5pm.

What will it cost?
There are no fees for this program.

All information is kept and recorded in accordance with the Privacy Act. Any information discussed with your housing worker will betreated in a confi dential manner unless otherwise stated. If moral or legal issues arise, where there maybe a risk to yourself or others, we are legally obligated to report this.
