The
Social Housing Advocacy & Support Program (SHASP) works with:
The
program provides free, confidential and independent advice and support
on the following issues:

Minor property repairs and maintenance

Information on how to transfer between Office of Housing properties
-
Appeals against decisions of the Office of Housing
-
Complaints concerning the Office of Housing
-
Information about resolving neighbourhood disputes
-
Victorian Civil Administrative Tribunal (tenancy) hearings.
The SHASP Program is funded by the Department of Human Services
Access
Clients seeking assistance in the above areas can contact the program Intake Worker on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays between 9-5 pm on 5278 8122.
Other
services provided
We
manage eight community halls located on elderly persons' estates
and we facilitate tenant involvement in Tenant Groups and the Regional
Tenant Committee.
Support
services
The
program also assists new public housing tenants to establish successful
tenancies and supports existing public housing tenants at risk of
eviction to sustain their tenancy,
referrals for support are made through the Office of Housing.
Fees
There
is no charge for the services provided by the program.

Your Rights Will Be Respected
Bethany
complies with the Information Privacy Act when handling all personal
information.
Information
that you discuss with a worker will be treated in a confidential
manner. If a moral or legal issue arises, where there may be risk
to yourself or others, we are legally obligated to report this.
The
service may be required to write a report. This report will include
relevant information regarding the service staff's observations
and conversations with all parties. All parties will be provided
with a copy of the report. |
