2020 Bethany Superhero Awards

The past few months have been extremely challenging for our communities. Whilst social isolation, working from home and remote learning has been difficult, the restrictions have also seen some wonderful acts of kindness, resilience and strength, gratefulness and generosity of spirit in the community.

This year, the Bethany Superhero Awards have particular relevance. It is this spirit we will be celebrating in 2020 and is why Bethany and Humans in Geelong have partnered together to find Victoria’s unsung heroes. This initiative provides a chance for students to be able to recognise, discuss and elaborate on some of the superheroes in their lives.

Competition details

Through the Superhero Awards we plan to unearth Victoria’s unsung heroes with the following aims:

  • To educate children on the importance of respectful, caring relationships and how to identify positive role models in their lives
  • To celebrate positive role models for children and acknowledging people whose everyday actions enrich the lives of children and empower them to be their best

Primary school-aged children in Greater Geelong and Warrnambool are invited to draw a picture, write a story or a poem or make a video that details who they are nominating and why that person deserves to be recognised as a Superhero.

Nominations will be open from Monday 17 August to Friday 18th September 2020.

Event details

Winners will be announced at a very special Bethany Superhero Awards Event at the Humans in Geelong Expo (virtual), to be hosted on Sunday 11th October.
