Work with us
With a commitment to learning, wellbeing, flexibility, inclusion and diversity, find out why it’s great to work at Bethany.
We are here to work together to meet the changing needs and aspirations of people in their communities.
We aim to make sustainable change in people’s lives, at each and every stage. Every day we support families and individuals in Geelong and Western Victoria.
Supporting people when they need us most. Here are some of our stories about how people in our community are navigating life with support from Bethany.
Geelong Giving Tree Appeal
On Saturday 12 November, the Geelong Giving Tree Appeal launches. Can you help fundraise or donate to support someone in our local community who is currently going through hardships? Click below to donate and learn more.
16 Days of Activism
During the 16 Days of Activism, people around the world will unite to raise awareness about gender-based violence, challenge discriminatory attitudes and call for improved laws and services to end violence against women for good.
Bethany Little Things Appeal
With the rising costs of living, many families are unable to afford many of the little things in life that we take for granted. Our annual June appeal raises funds to help buy these little experiences for local families.
Geelong Candlight Vigil
In May each year, together with Safe Steps Victoria and The Sexual Assault and Family Violence Centre, Geelong’s city centre turns purple, as we light a candle to remember women who have died due to family violence.
Surf Coast Century
This September, we’re working with the Surf Coast Century to raise vital funds to end family violence. And, with your help, together we can change the story. Can you make your run count?
Building a new life in Geelong
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sally and her infant son James were experiencing the frightening intensity of a violent relationship and a lockdown.
Through ongoing emotional and mental health supports provided by Bethany, they are now well equipped and supported to make a fresh start in their new city.
“It’s been really great to have someone to talk to and debrief. I was really frazzled at the beginning of COVID and the help to refocus on different areas of our life that we could work on, has been great.”
“Help provided, someone to talk to. Someone who listens to me. Someone who will listen even if they can’t help. They are always trying.”
“My client stated that after seven sessions she is now not experiencing panic attacks and her anxiety is not impacting on her functioning anymore. She stated she can now apply the skills and overcome any anxiety quickly and move forward”
“I only hope more women can find you and reach out to you for support”
