Surf Coast Century

Bethany is the official charity partner of the Surf Coast Century, raising funds to support Bethany’s family violence programs.

Surf Coast Century

In 2022, Bethany became the official charity partner of the Surf Coast Century, a spectacular 50km and 100km ultra marathon race for solo runners and relay teams in the Surf Coast and Great Ocean Road region.

As an initiative to raise funds to support Bethany’s family violence programs, the race takes place in September each year, with registrations opening in March.

We invite our community of runners (and perhaps new runners too!) to run and make a difference – you’ll be supporting women and children in our community experiencing family violence, and also provide us with a chance to look at other ways in which we can help end family violence in our community.

About the appeal

There are a number of ways in which you can help run to make a difference:

Run 50km or 100km as a solo runner

Ask your networks to support your purpose to help end family violence in our community

Run in a team

If you are part of running club, school, university, business or community group and you’d like to run as a corporate team, you can do so in teams of 2, 3 or 4 runners. As a corporate team, you need to fundraise $1,000, but you’ll also receive lots of special benefits too!

Bethany Kids’ Run

This one is for families and supporters – on the Sunday of the event, the Bethany Kids’ Run is a lovely 2.5km run along Anglesea Main Beach – and a chance for the little runners (10 years and under) to show-off their best running spirit – and raise funds for Bethany – 20% of entry fees ($10) are donated to Bethany!

Over $3,500

Raising to support women and children experiencing family violence

In 2022, through some of our passionate community runners, we raised more than $3,500, which is being used to support women and children experiencing family violence.

The date for 2023 is Saturday 16 September, so if you’ve got plenty of time to lace up those running shoes and start training. To keep up to date, you can subscribe to our newsletter, or contact us at
