Family and relationship counselling

We support an inclusive environment where people of all genders and ages, people living with a disability, First Nations people and people from LGBTI and CALD communities feel empowered to share their experiences and ideas; knowing that these will be valued and respected. Our staff are well-informed and sensitive to lived experiences. They understand the complexities and challenges people face when accessing services. We are committed to working with you to understand your needs.

Being a parent or guardian is one of the most important jobs you can do. It can be incredibly rewarding – and it can be very difficult. Relationships with other family members or partners can also be challenging and stressful.

Bethany Community Support provides family relationship counselling to individuals, couples and children. Our counsellors are compassionate, experienced and fully qualified.

In your counselling sessions, we will help you explore, understand, and possibly change, aspects of your life and relationships. The aim of the program is to promote positive change, assist in problem solving and reduce stress.

Counselling can be helpful to:

  • address communication issues
  • deal with difference and conflict
  • assist with concerns about family relationships
  • improve child–parent relationships
  • cope with separation and loss
  • overcome trauma and related challenges
  • improve self-confidence.

We also offer programs to learn about how you can support children after separation.

If you’re experiencing challenges with your ex-partner to manage contact with your children, you might consider Bethany’s supervised contact services.
