Geelong Giving Tree Appeal

The Geelong Giving Tree Appeal launches Monday 16th November and for the first time in 20 years, we’re asking people to donate funds, not gifts, to the appeal to keep everyone COVID safe.

The lead up to Christmas is proving tougher than ever for vulnerable people in our community. We’ve partnered with bay 93.9, Barwon Child, Youth and Family and the Sexual Assault and Family Violence Centre to change Christmas for locals in need.

We need your help to raise $100,000 for disadvantaged families and individuals. Money raised will be exchanged for gift cards and will be provided to people currently receiving support from Bethany and other local community support agencies.

Please donate or fundraise for the Geelong Giving Tree Appeal this year.

Donating $10 gives a child a gift from Santa

Donating $20 gives a parent or carer a gift for themselves for the first time in years

Donating $30 could help a family family celebrate over Christmas lunch

Donating $100 could help a family buy presents for their children to open Christmas morning

Can you change Christmas for someone like Carolyn?

Single mum Carolyn and her five-year-old daughter almost didn’t celebrate Christmas last year. She’d been dealing with her daughter’s special needs, her own health issues and living pay-to-pay. The donated presents from the Geelong Giving Tree Appeal changed their Christmas. Carolyn says:

“Receiving gifts through the Giving Tree Appeal made Christmas come true for my daughter. I was struggling to make ends meet and didn’t know how I was going to afford anything for Christmas.

“I’ll never forget the smile on my daughter’s face when she opened her presents.

“This year I’m in a better position and I’m donating to the appeal to give another family the hope the appeal created for me.”
