The Geelong Giving Tree Appeal finished on Tuesday 1 December and for the first time in 20 years, we asked people to donate funds, not gifts, to the appeal to keep everyone COVID safe. In 2020 we partnered with bay 93.9, Barwon Child, Youth and Family and the Sexual Assault and Family Violence Centre to change Christmas for locals in need.
Thank you to everyone who generously donated to the Geelong Giving Tree Appeal. We are overjoyed to see such incredible support from the local community. Together you have showcased Geelong’s Christmas spirit and raised $67,407! Your generosity has made a real difference to hundreds of families in our community this Christmas.
We’d especially like to thank our matched Giving Day Partners including The Anthony Costa Foundation, APCO Foundation, Bisnella, Geelong Connected Communities and Harvey Norman – Corio and Waurn Ponds for letting us double the donations for our final day of the Appeal.
Thank you as well as our partners bay 93.9, Barwon Child, Youth & Family and The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre.
If you are still wanting to donate to the Appeal, you can donate directly to Bethany and these funds will be used to directly support the people who need it within our community this Christmas.
Giving Tree Hosts
During the appeal, we have seen remarkable acts of kindness and support from many local Geelong people and businesses in support of Geelong Giving Tree Appeal.
Kindergartens and primary schools have run Giving Days, local businesses like the CSIRO, Bakers Delight Pakington Street and Geelong Girl Guides have fundraised for us, City of Greater Geelong and Geelong Arts Centre have partnered on key events to raise exposure for the Appeal – it’s been heart warming and reaffirms the strength of the Geelong community to look after each other.
