This month’s Bethany Kindergarten Services staff profile is Anne Daniels from Fyans Park Kindergarten.
Anne is a passionate early-childhood educator who brings 29 years experience to the BKS team.
She has dedicated her entire career to educating kindergarten aged children, pausing briefly only to raise her own family.
Anne said one of the most rewarding parts of her job is witnessing the confidence of the children she works with emerge and grow throughout the year.
“I absolutely love watching and working with all the different personalities, seeing confidence emerge during the year,” Anne said.
“There is nothing more rewarding than the joy on a child’s face when they finally achieve something wether it be cutting on a line or spinning a hoop,” she said.
“The elation in achievement is infectious.”
For Anne, a highlight of ger job is getting to witness the innocent and often hilarious situations that children create.
Anne shares her favorite and funniest memory from her career:
“Children are very spontanious, funny and surprising, my most hillarious memory happened way back in 1992 down at Anglesea Kinder. It was a particularly hot afternoon and we were enjoying the sun when a set of identical twin girls took a trip to the bathroom.”
“Just to paint a picture, the bathroom in Anglesea had a large single troff for the children to wash their hands in.”
“The girls had been gone a little while so I wondered in to check on them. What did I find you ask?”
“Two sisters sitting in the troff enjoying a dip and splash.”
“I was met with … “oh Please Anne Don’t make us get out we are having a wonderful time!”
“This image still brings me joy.”
