Tenancy assistance

We support an inclusive environment where people of all genders and ages, people living with a disability, First Nations people and people from LGBTI and CALD communities feel empowered to share their experiences and ideas; knowing that these will be valued and respected. Our staff are well-informed and sensitive to lived experiences. They understand the complexities and challenges people face when accessing services. We are committed to working with you to understand your needs.

Bethany Community Support’s Tenancy Assistance and Advocacy Program (TAAP) can help with a wide range of issues that may be facing tenants, including:

  • repairs
  • rental increases
  • notices to vacate
  • bond refunds
  • goods left behind
  • VCAT hearings
  • ending a lease
  • breaches of the landlord’s duties

The TAAP program services tenants who live in a private rental, either through a real estate agent or directly with the landlord. If tenants living in private rental accommodation are experiencing financial disadvantage and/or family violence then they are eligible for ongoing assistance and advocacy.

Please note that the program does not cover disputes between tenants.

The TAAP program services Warrnambool and surrounds, Portland , Hamilton and the Wimmera.
The program can assist at VCAT Hearings listed at Warrnambool, Portland, Hamilton and Horsham if you meet the eligibility criteria.
