Thank you to our supporters and funders
Bethany relies on program partners, local business, sponsors, government departments and philanthropic support to deliver over 40 different programs across Victoria. Through this funding we aim to reduce barriers that create vulnerability and disadvantage.
We are grateful for the strong relationships we have with individuals and organisations that share our aspirations and values.

Thank you to our business supporters
We extend a heartfelt thank you to the businesses (both big and small) who have partnered with us to fundraise and support our local community. It’s a wonderful opportunity for staff and customers across the region to make a tangible difference.

Many thanks for your kindness
Kindness; defined as ‘the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate.’
Thank you to those supporting the annual Book Bunnies Appeal
For the last five years, Collins Booksellers Warrnambool has run an annual Book Bunnies Appeal, asking local customers to buy a book instore that can be donated to a child in need. We then distribute these books to the children we support across the South West – many of whom have never had their very own book.
Collins cover 25 per cent of the purchase price and match each donated book with another title from the store
Michaelie Clark, Collins Booksellers Warrnambool Manager said that “Our commitment to our region is very important to us. We believe this campaign helps bring a bit of joy to families who are struggling, as well as providing the flow on benefits of aiding literacy, promoting critical thinking and creativity, nurturing a positive relationship with books, reading, learning and gaining new perspectives.”
Over $10,000 worth of books have now been donated since the campaign began in 2018. What an incredible achievement!
Thank you to those who donate
We can’t say thank you enough to each and every individual, family and/or business who makes a much-needed donation to Bethany. Your kindness and generosity makes a huge impact on those in the community who need it most.
Whether you are a regular donor or make a one-off donation, we greatly appreciate your contribution and hope you will continue supporting your local community in the future.
We thank you very much for your kindness.
Thank you for the 'Little Things'...
Bethany Community Support’s Little Things Appeal was launched in June with an aim to raise funds to provide practical yet enriching little things that can make the world of different to someone doing it tough at the moment.
Thanks to the generosity of people and businesses within our community, Bethany raised more than $13,000 to provide families and individuals in Geelong and Warrnambool with “little life-enriching experiences”.
All proceeds raised from the appeal have been utilised to purchase vouchers from local Geelong businesses to brighten the lives of those facing hardship. It really was a truly wonderful and joyful fundraising campaign made possible by the generosity of our local community.
Making every step count in the Surf Coast Century
This year marked Bethany’s first year as the official charity partner of The Surf Coast Century Ultra Marathon with funds raised to support women and children experiencing family violence in our community.
Through the partnership, runners were encouraged to make their steps count on and off the trail by fundraising for Bethany’s family violence programs.

Held on Saturday 17 September in Anglesea, the event took place in a broad variety of terrain and scenery in and around the Great Ocean Road sea cliffs, sandy beaches and hinterlands.
Recent studies indicate that one in three women have experienced emotional, physical or sexual abuse by a current or former partner since the age of 15.
Anika Warren-Smith wanted to give back to the community she grew up in, by running 50km to raise awareness and fundraise to support victims of family violence.
“I believe we each have a role to play in keeping everyone in our community safe. My small part in that is to challenge myself with a 50km trail run and fundraise to support people who are doing it tougher than I am,” Anika said.
Anika, together with many other inspirational runners, raised more than $3,500, which will be used directly to support women and children currently supported by Bethany.

The Geelong Giving Tree Appeal 2022
This year marked the 21st anniversary of Bethany’s Giving Tree Appeal – an Appeal created to provide relief, and joy to our community, many of whom may be struggling at this time of year. In 2022, the Appeal supported Bethany, BCYF, The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre, Orange Door and Wathaurong.
There is no doubt that 2022 was an eventful year with many feeling the pressure of economic and global challenges which resulted in an increased demand for Bethany’s support services. Christmas time is about joy and giving, but for many it can be a reminder of some of the difficulties that they face.
From November 12 – December 6, we asked the Geelong community to help support these families and individuals, by donating to the Geelong Giving Tree Appeal so that we could buy gift cards to distribute in the weeks before Christmas. And they did.
With the support of some valuable Major Partners, and some brilliant fundraising teams, the Appeal raised $118,327 which in-turn provided thousands of local residents across Greater Geelong with a little bit of joy at Christmas time. For many, the gift cards enabled parents to buy their children a Christmas present that they wouldn’t have otherwise afforded or helped put Christmas dinner on the table.
